Prof. Anna PARZYMIES awarded with
the 2009 UNESCO/Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture
Prof. Anna Parzymies was awarded by an international jury for establishing our Department and for leading its research on Arab and Muslim population in Europe as well for the activities of her publishing house - Wydawnictwo Akademickie DIALOG, promoting Arab and Muslim culture.
The Prize has been awarded annually since 2003 and honours individuals, groups or institutions that have made a significant contribution to the development, dissemination and promotion of Arab culture throughout the world. The well-known Iraqi poet and calligrapher Ghani Alani was awarded together with Prof. Parzymies.
The award ceremony took place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 9th February 2010. |
